A large part my work is commissioned portraits done from photos provided by the client.  I create these portraits using only the best quality charcoal and pastel materials. All materials are acid free and created on the finest papers available.  It is my goal to create an heirloom-quality work of art that will be enjoyed for generations to come.

The portrait process begins by communicating with you in person, by e-mail or on the telephone to discuss ideas for the work. Please send your photos and a completed portrait order form, to me by E-mail at emilychristoff@aol.com, or by mail to my mailing address below. I can only work from photos that are clear, but I am able to work from photos that may be damanged.  I can splice several photos together into one drawing  I can also recreate your antique black and whte photos into full color portraits.

In keeping with standard professional practices, I require a non-refundable  $40.00 deposit towards the total cost of the commission in order to begin the work. The balance is due when the completed portrait is accepted by you.  The deposit may be payed using a check in the mail, check cash or credit in person or using the Paypal button below.

Upon completion of your portrait, I will e-mail a copy of the painting for your approval before you pay for the rest of your portrait.  At this time I encourage you to request corrections so that your portrait captures the very essence of your loved one. Once you have approved and have payed for your portrait I will ship it or you may pick it up at my studio and pay in person. Every reasonable effort will be made to create a portrait that satisfies the client completely.

I require two weeks minimum to create a commissioned portrait. I often have a waiting list, so the waiting time may be longer. There will be an additional charge of $20.00  to rush an order in less than 2 weeks.
